MISA CRIOLLA – 50th anniversary!

The year 2015 marks Misa Criolla’s jubilee (a mass merging various genres of Latin American folk music). 50 years ago, two pioneers works, Misa Criolla by Ariel Ramírez and Misa a la Chilena by Vicente Bianchi, had their world premieres. Four years later Chabuca Granda premiered her Misa Criolla de Bodas on the occasion of her daughter’s wedding; and Misa Campesina Nicaragüense by Carlos Mejía Godoy celebrates its 40th anniversary this year too.

All these compositions emerged in the aftermath of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council (1962-1965) that induced a renovation of the genre by combining liturgy and folklore. SININEN TULI is pleased to offer a Finnish audience the opportunity to listen live to those compositions, some performed for the first time in Finland, as a token of Latin American cultural rich diversity.

A Latin American religious and folk music megaconcert conveying a universal message brought to you by a large cast of singers and musicians on a dream stage. The space of the Temple in the Rock not only offers a perfect adequacy between forms and contents it is also an important venue for Finnish music activity. The program includes some pieces that will be heard in Finland live for the first time.

Who?

The project is organized by SININEN TULI (Blue Fire): Finnish singer-violinist Sanna Mansikkaniemi and Peruvian guitarist Camilo Pajuelo duo. Both will perform together with Grupo Ondú, Prima Vista Choir conducted by Heikki Ruokonen, International Vocal Ensemble and other guest musicians. For more information see the Facebook-event.

We are an independent group of artists fond of Latin American music and culture. The money collected will be used to pay fees for the artists and to other expenses induced by the production of the event. Through Mesenaatti we encourage you to buy beforehand our program booklet. This will provide you with a booking for the first rows of the main hall. Likewise those supporters who bought advertising space in the program booklet will also be granted preferential seats. Cuatro misas criollas para festejar la diversidad cultural de Latinoamérica a través de su música en el Templo en la Roca (Temppeliaukio) de Helsinki, el 30 de octubre de 2015 a las 7 de la tarde. ¡Únete a la celebración de este megaconcierto y contribuye a su realización!

MISA CRIOLLA – ¡50 ANIVERSARIO!

En 2015 se celebra el jubileo de la Misa Criolla. Hace 50 años se estrenaron dos obras pioneras de este tipo de composición: la Misa Criolla del argentino Ariel Ramírez y la Misa a la Chilena del maestro Vicente Bianchi. Cuatro años más tarde, Chabuca Granda estrena su Misa Criolla de Bodas para celebrar el matrimonio de su hija, y en 1975, hace 40 años, Carlos Mejía Godoy escribe la Misa Campesina Nicaragüense.

Estas obras surgen en las postrimerías del Concilio ecuménico Vaticano II (1962-1965), al permitir éste una renovación del género mediante la fusión de liturgia y folclor. SININEN TULI tiene el agrado de ofrecer al público de Finlandia la oportunidad de escuchar estas composiciones en vivo, algunas por primera vez, como muestra de la riqueza cultural de Latinoamérica.

¡Un megaconcierto latinoamericano de música religiosa y folclórica portadora de un mensaje universal ofrecido por un gran elenco de cantantes y músicos en un escenario de ensueño por la adecuación de contenidos y formas y la importancia del recinto en la actividad musical nacional. El programa incluye algunas obras que se escucharán por vez primera en Finlandia.

Este concierto está organizado y producido por el dúo SININEN TULI (Fuego Azul), formado por la cantante y violinista finlandesa Sanna Masikkaniemi y el guitarrista peruano Camilo Pajuelo. Ambos actuarán junto con el Grupo Ondú, el coro Prima Vista, bajo la conducción de Heikki Ruokonen; el Ensamble Vocal Internacional, y otros músicos invitados.
