Never-ending Dream

NEVERENDING DREAM is the first movie to tell about the 90’s Eurodance phenomenon. It’s a story about the music and the stars and about those who fell in love and danced their first slow dances to the 90’s hits. In addition to the passionate beat and the glittering music videos the movie takes us to the spirit of the era: Why did the world ask for this music?

Eurodance was a mass phenomenon, a generation experience at the time before the Internet and the social media. Some people hated it – they possibly still do. The others still love it passionately today. It’s unbelievable how we still remember these great songs but the artists behind them have remained completely unfamiliar to many people.

The dance music boom, the Smurfs, Dr. Bombay – at some point this kind of music turned into humour. Today many people think that Eurodance is only a parody. It isn’t. The power of the music lights up something so shameless in joy and in anger that it deserves its own movie.

It’s my life.

Who are working behind the movie?

The movie is directed by Petri Luukkainen whose previous movie My Stuff has been internationally one of the most successful Finnish documentaries. It has been distributed to movie theatres in over 10 countries.

The screenwriter is Johannes Ekholm who has written the bestseller play Kaspar Hauser. Due to Helsingin Sanomat and the magazine Image, Ekholm’s first book “Graphic Design practice, techniques, strategies” boiled down the generation experience of the ones who were born in the 1980’s.

The movie is produced by Mete Sasioglu and the production company Sons of Lumière. Luukkainen, Ekholm and Sasioglu are supported by an active, professional and ambitious team.

The premiere of the movie is planned to be at the end of 2016.
