Why I should buy the puzzlegame Tiny Robots?

Tiny Robots is a unique puzzle game with different, yet simple game mechanics. The game makes players think and use their senses to figure out the best way to create their robots, without getting too many minus points from faulty lines.
In Tiny Robots players challenge themselves, their friends and their family to compete in the game. The one who makes the best robots and gains the most points is crowned the robot builder master!

What is Tiny Robots?

Tiny Robots is very addictive and interesting game, because not a single game is the same as the previous one. You can always create new combinations of circuit pieces and funny looking robot combinations. Building robots makes everyone think, and it develops problem solving skills. Tiny robots is a combination of memory- and puzzle game. The game is easy to learn, but gets more difficult towards the end since all proper game pieces start to run out. It forces players to think differently, and how to avoid getting too much minus points. Even the hardest boardgame enthusiasts will have challenging moments!

The amount of game pieces ensure no two games are alike. The game has 125 pieces on play at best, and players can choose different amount of colors to play faster games. Game pieces are made of very tough cardboard and the rules are simple to learn.

The game develops both child’s and adult’s visual skills and problem solving skills.

How Tiny Robots is played?

Before the game starts, players choose a condition that decides when the game ends, such as when game pieces run out. The game begins when the game pieces are set to the playing area, circuit side upwards. In their turn players take one piece at a time from the playing area and place it in their robot. During the turn, player can also remove one piece from the robot and put it back into the playing area and turn the three pieces from the game area to see the image side. When your own robot has at least three pieces, the player can declare it to be ready and show it to other players. After this, the robot is scored and the player starts to build yet another robot. Game is won by the player who collects the most points during the game.

Who are behind the Tiny Robots?

Doorway Games is a group of 5 person who are enthusiastic about board games. We like to play games and we are always excited to have people to play something new. We operate mainly in Lohja, at the southern part of Finland, but our company is accompanied by people around Finland. In addition, we belong to the Finnish export group Artic Union.

How can you participate in the campaign and why support crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding covers partly the manufacturing costs of Tiny Robots and at the same time customers are offered the chance to buy the game cheaper in advance. In addition, you get the game delivered to the desired address, to your door or at friend’s. Everyone involved in the campaign gets a personal letter of thanks with the product.

You can purchase the game for yourself by clicking here or “fund” button on the right side of the page. After this you can choose the reward what suits you best. After choosing your chosen perk you write your contact information and pay for your product. Easy!

We will notify the end of the campaign to all participants and keep them up to date on what stage their product is. We ship the game the address you provided when the final product is completed. Estimated delivery in August or September.

Potential risks

The only risk associated with the campaign is that completion of the Tiny Robots might be delayed, in which case it is delivered behind schedule. However, producing the game will start already while the campaign is underway, so Tiny Robots will arrive to the markets! All changes will be informed to everyone funding in the campaign.

RACE TO THE NORTH POLE

Race to the North Pole is world’s first Fusion Board Game. The game is suitable for almost all ages and the goal is to get player’s expedition team to North Pole first. Game can be played from 2 to 4 players and average play time is around 30 minutes.

Each player has their own expedition team. Game is played by playing cards for your team members on the board. Cards are used either to advance your own team, or to “eat” opponents team members, in which case they are returned to the starting camp.

The occasinally rotating game board simulates unexpected weather conditions in the Arctic. With each rotate team members move around on the board, the board itself changes and player’s hands of cards are switched. This makes Race to the North Pole a surprising and fun game where everyone has to live in the moment.

Game comes with plenty of blank pieces, where players can create their own new content or get it online from our website. This way the playing community can add more fun features to the already great game! On top of this players can take advantage of their smart device along with the game. This can be used to get extra content for the game or additional mechanics. For example the turning of the board is more difficult to predict with the “weather channel” mechanic.

We still need proper graphics and printing for the game. The goal of our crowdfunding campaign is to bring out a fantastic and long lasting board game. The game is fully a product on Finland. Please note, that game presented on images and videos is a prototype and not the finalized version of the game. You can find all the rewards available on the column on the right side of the page!

WHAT ARE FUSION BOARD GAMES?

Fusion Board Games is a concept we made for next generation’s board games. These games combine traditional board gaming to current technology. We hope that Race to the North Pole will be the first in a long line of entertaining board games. Fusion Board Games have three special features:

  1. Extra Content: It’s important to note, that our games always work straight out from the box without the need of any gadgets. On top of that thay allow players to find extra content online which can be used by either transferring the information to the blank pieces provided with the game or by using a smart device along with the game. Extra content might be for example alternative rules for the game, new character cards or a totally new deck of cards.
  2. Customizability: Because our games come with blank pieces, players can also create their own content on them thus making the game more suitable for any specific group of players. These can be characters, cards, tiles and so on. Players can also create new content online and share it with the whole world!
  3. Smart devices: Fusion Board Games allow players to use their smart devices. Mobile phones and tablet computers can be used along with our games. Anyone can go online and find new content and mechanics for our games. Most of the content is free of charge, except the mechanics that are expensive to create. Those will be available with a small fee. Extra content and mechanics will be coded in HTML5 so that it will work on any modern device.

HOW DOES CROWDFUNDING WORK AND HOW IS MY MONEY SPENT

Our crowdfunding works so, that if our minimum goal (25,000€) is reached by the end of August 2014, we have money to create the game in which case it will ship before Christmas 2014. If the minimum goal is not reached, the money is returned to the funders.

Because of the nature of crowdfunding it’s very important that those who have already taken part in the campaign share it forwards. The campaign will only succeed when large enough crowd take apart in the campaign.

CAMPAIGN GOALS AND STRECTH GOALS

The actual goal of our campaign is 40,000€. This will allow us to create the game and online content exactly the way we are planning to. We have also made stretch goals so people who have already taken part in the campaign would share it forwards.

WHAT RISKS DOES THE CAMPAIGN HAVE?

We advertise our campaign as risk free investment for following reasons: We return every penny it the minimum goal is not reached. When the minimum goal is reached we promise to deliver the rewards for our funders. We already have an artist and printing settled for the game. Schedules have also been set so that the game is out from print well before Christmas and we have time to ship out the game. International shipping does play a factor here but we’ll do our best to make sure that every funder gets their game before Christmas. The most realistic risks are unexpected delays or if the game doesn’t for some reason match funder expectations. We naturally don’t believe in either scenario thus we’re calling our campaign risk free!
